What airport do I fly into?

You are responsible for booking your own international flights to Lima, Peru. If you arrive prior to the starting date of the trip, you will be responsible for your own hotel accommodations and/or transportation to the group meeting location. You are also responsible for booking your own domestic in-country flights to and from Lima and Trujillo. We are requesting that everyone in the group travel on the same domestic flights from Lima to Trujillo and back, and will provide the recommended flights upon registration.

What is the weather like?

Our October and December trips take place during the Spring and Summer in the Southern Hemisphere. Located at sea level, Trujillo has a balanced, mild climate throughout the year.

Average daytime highs during our trip are expected to in the low-to-mid 70s Fahrenheit. The climate is coastal desert valley, warm and humid, cooled by the wind. Evenings are often much cooler.

Is there electricity, wi-fi or cell phone coverage?

Electric supply in Peru is 220 volts AC, 60Hz. Twin flat blade (as used in the US) and twin round pin plugs (as used in Europe) are both standard here.

Wi-fi and cellular service is available in Lima and Trujillo. However, internet connections can be slow.

For cellular service, we recommend contacting your mobile provider prior to the trip for plans for international data roaming, texting, phone calls, and emails to avoid unexpected service fees.

Is it physically strenuous?

No. Not at all. This journey is suitable for participants of all levels of physical fitness.

It does not include any hiking, climbing or other strenous activities, although we start our days early and several of the ceremonies do go quite late into the evenings.

All day trips are optional, and individual participants often choose to stay and relax at the lodge during the days.

Do I need any special training or shamanic experience?

Absolutely not. This is a spiritual journey that your soul calls you to.

An open heart and mind, and willingness to excel, learn, and grow on your path are all that’s required.

Can I get a private room?

Both Single and Double Occupancy rooms are available. There is a surcharge of $500 for a single room. Requests for a single room must be made in advance at the time of booking. Please contact our travel manager, luzmoyer@gmail.com for additional information.

Do you offer payment plans?

I'm on a special diet. What's the food like?

For vegetarians and gluten-free diets, there are plenty of options to enjoy, and the food is pure and natural. Breakfasts are included while staying at the hotels, and are usually served buffet style, so you can choose what you like. They include a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, cheeses, yogurts, granola, nuts, cereals, coffee, tea, juices, eggs, omelets, breads, and other proteins. Most lunches and dinners have hot soups, local cooked main dishes including seafood, breads, potatoes, steamed vegetables, avocados and a variety of proteins. The food is amazingly fresh, beautiful, clean, and nutritious.

What are the accomodations like? How rustic is it?

We stay at the beautiful Moche Sanctuary Lodge, nestled in the countryside a few minutes outside of the city of Trujillo. The adobe-style accommodations are clean, quiet and comfortable. Single and Double rooms feature queen and king size beds, en-suite bathrooms with hot running water (some with oversize bath tubs), electrical outlets, clean towels daily, tile floors, ceiling fans, air conditioning, screened-in windows and an exterior terrace overlooking the manicured grounds. The Lodge has a full restaurant onsite that offers clean, fresh meals typical of the region (including fresh seafood, soups and salads), as well as meeting room and private outdoor space where we hold our ceremonies, and a swimming pool. You can learn more about the Lodge and see pictures on their website at: https://www.mochelodge.com/en/
