The Call of the Jungle

I awake, in the jungle, in the middle of the night. I know I hadn’t been asleep long; I wonder what has brought my awareness to the surface.

Listening intently in the darkness, I think I hear breathing.

Or maybe it’s more a sense of feeling the breathing, since all I really hear are the drops of water falling from the abundant vegetation outside my room after the earlier storm.

Yes, I feel the breath. Although I can’t quite put it into words, I know that I’m hearing and feeling the Gaia, the mother, the earth …..breathing.

I understand logically – and even teach in some of my classes – that this is Shuman’s Resonance, scientifically measured at 7.83 HZ/second. But tonight, as I lay in the dark with last evening’s ceremony still informing me…I am truly experiencing the breathing of the earth at a deep, core cellular level.

The plant medicine Ayahuasca (the vine of death), administered last night by our Shipibo shaman Don Guido, had been gentle. But moments before I’d taken my dose, I was on the edge of full panic.

What if he gives me too much?

This, even though I’ve worked with him for years and trust him impeccably. And he’d just taken my pulse, so I knew he knew exactly what I needed. But the vine – like death – always makes me pause…and then surrender to the unknown.

As a mountain girl, I never thought I’d fall in love with the jungle.

When I look deep inside, I resonate with the power and love of this amazing plant medicine. I’ve been so honored to have individuals return to the jungle again and again with me. To me, that may be the highest compliment of all.

I’m continually blown away to witness the deep transformations experienced by participants as they too courageously surrender to that unknown. And because I’ve had the opportunity to work with so many of them over time, I've seen the plant continue to assist them in those shifts long after they have returned home.

Words are inadequate to describe the love and strength held by our jungle shaman.

I’ve seen him wrestle with dark energies, including old karmas and generational patterns held as psychological issues or physical pain, as they are released by participants.

I’ve watched people surrender as a lifetime of trauma is wiped from their body one night, and heard them swear the next night that it was a different brew, as they were now open to the experience of being directly informed by sitting with spirit… and sitting in love.

If you are ready to experience the power, the healing, the love for yourself, I’m excited to announce that I’m offering – for the first time ever – a 12-day, private Jungle Healing Intensive, July 30-August 11, 2019.

Designed for the way our shaman likes to work, this extraordinary in-depth healing journey features 8 evening Ayahuasca ceremonies , additional private sessions, and traditional ceremonies and rituals working with fire, smoke and the powerful waters of the Amazon. All at our beautiful Pacaya Samiria Lodge, that has the healthiest yummy food ever… And where you can experience the earth breathing you!

As a special bonus, I've shared one of our shaman’s sacred icaros (a ceremonial medicine song traditionally performed during ayahuasca ceremonies to induce a profound state of healing, awareness or amazement), so you too can feel the earth's breathing… and the love and power in the plant they call El Doctor…. [ LISTEN HERE]
