Wild and precious

I live in a little town, right on the ocean. If you have ever driven the Oregon coast, you probably drove right through this picturesque town. I love both the water and the town's backdrop of green-covered mountains with towering coastal trees. This week has been a first for me here: a humbling experience that many of you have been living with for months or even years. This tiny town is filled with smoke, evacuations within 20 miles, power outages, no cell service and crazy winds. It is easy to slip into a feeling of helplessness with the power of nature. With every gust of wind, I pray that the fire fighters are safe. I think of those who are evacuating, those who have lost everything. My heart goes out to the families of those who have lost their lives. This is on top of the ongoing threat of illness, fear of compromising the safety of loved ones, and even death. All in a climate of continuing racial injustice, anger and tensions. You either open your heart or you numb out. The last stanza from one of my favorite Mary Oliver poems has become a mantra... Tell me, what is it you plan to do With your one wild and precious life? It is such a gift to be here right now. But I really am curious…. I want to know your answer… I really, really want to know…. What holds you back from moving forward in your life? What stops you from being the very best version you can be? What is your biggest challenge to creating a life you love? And – what do you want? What would it be like for you to live your life to its fullest, to move forward in your life? What is it that you want the courage to create? What do you plan to do with YOUR one wild and precious life? I’m clear right now that I want to stay awake, in my heart, to love more, and to give back in service… to share skills that allow others joy, ease, happiness, and laughter. Thank you – from my heart for letting me know what holds you back, what will help you move forward and what do you want to co-create with spirit…. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
