Last week I shared how connection is key to what the world needs right now.  Keep reading for exercises, practices, and ceremonies you can implement immediately.

In case you missed last week’s sharing we started with Connection to Self, because your physical body is the sacred vessel you use to connect to the divine.

We also covered that your thoughts must be sacred. Every thought creates a vibration that either lifts you up, holds you at neutral or pushes you down.

Remember, the easiest way to shift your vibration is gratitude! I included a free eBook that has simple everyday practices for living in gratitude.

This week is about Connection to Others

As humans, we are designed to be in relationships. Our brains are wired for connection to ensure the continuation of our species and in tribal days to ensure survival through sharing responsibilities like child-rearing, hunting, and protection. When you connect to others, your brain releases oxytocin (the feel-good hormone) so you are able to be calm, have a sense of wellbeing, and be more positive about yourself and the world.

Research shows the quality of your relationships is the single biggest indicator of your happiness which impacts your longevity and physical health.

For the shaman, Connection with Others is all about energy. Practice by connecting with the stranger on the subway, the grocery store clerk, someone on your walk. When you share a connected moment, tune in to the instant feel-good chemical reaction.

As you shift to a higher and higher vibration you may notice you can no longer stand being in certain relationships. This is normal as you transform. Know it is ok to let that relationship go, even if they are family.

But first you need to be in right relationship.

What does right relationship mean? When you are able to listen and sense, without judging or projecting, you are in right relationship.

The shaman’s vehicle to right relationship is ceremony. Ceremony offers the easiest way to create transformation and movement.

Think of ceremony as the tool to go way upstream where the energy is easy to work with. For family connection, your tool needs to be an ancestor altar. Here's a quick reminder of the steps for an ancestor altar.

The go-to ceremony to release and gracefully let go of a relationship that no longer serves you would be a fire ceremony. Place your offering for the other into the fire with an open heart and release all connections (and cords) to spirit.

Want to call in a new relationship? Be very clear on each of the individual qualities you’d like in the relationship first, even write them down, then turn over to spirit by placing the words in a sacred bowl for honoring each day with your intention. Lastly, stay awake and be open to receiving exactly what you want.

Stay tuned for more sharing on Connection to Spirit and Connection to the Earth.

With an open heart,

Linda
