This month is all about connection.
We started with Connection to Self, because your physical body is the sacred vessel to access the divine. Shamans know that what you focus on is fully your choice, and with your thoughts and beliefs, you create the world.
Last week was about Connection to Others. As humans, we are designed to be in relationships. So much so that when you connect to others your brain releases oxytocin (the feel-good hormone).
This week we dance with Connection to Spirit.
You’ll know when you connect to source. Your breath might slow. You might have positive thoughts or even no thoughts, and the concept of time may go away. You’ll be fully present and fully awake. It is the place of synchronicity, flow, miracles, ease and magic.
It’s true that connection to spirit is key to creating a life you’ll love. But, instead of wondering and working on re-connecting to spirit, know you are already and always connected.
Your practice is about RE-REMEMBERING that you are connected to spirit.
Think about your indigenous ancestors. Living connected to spirit is your birthright. What is preventing you from remembering?
Keep clearing the old limiting stories, events, traumas; yours and from your ancestors, that are all coded in your brain and body. Do the practices to be in right relationship with self and others. Embody a gratitude practice, open your heart wide, put a twinkle in your eye, and set your intention to RE-remember. It is an amazing, often unspeakable, utterly unique, and transformational experience.
You can re-remembering through plant medicine in the Amazon or through a simple visceral moment watching the beauty of a sunset, or as you feel bathed in the light of tonight’s full moon.
You want to forget... so you can remember. The gift is in the remembering because each time you re-remember you connect deeper and become more awake. You begin to become one with the moment of re-remembering and then sharing that re-remembering becomes your passion.
As the great Sufi mystic and poet Jalal-ud-Din Rumi wrote:
“Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. I’ll meet you there.”
Until our next sharing on the last in this series, Connection to Earth…
With love,
Linda
P.S. Sharing about how to connect to spirit has been my passion as a shaman. It is the theme that weaves its way through all my teaching. Learn more with 10 days of Creating at Source.
